Ladle Refining Furnace
Ladle Refining Furnaces are a proven technology used for producing alloy steel, desulfurizing liquid steel and for improving the productivity of a steel plant. Ladle Refining is a post-melting treatment that is after melting in the Induction Melting Furnace.
Whenever LRF is installed online liquid metal is transferred from the main melting source to the LRF at a nominal tapping temperature and either Argon/Nitrogen is purged-from the bottom apart from arcing (using electrodes) on the top to bring about homogeneity of liquid metal composition and temperature. Ladle Refining of liquid metal is a proven technology to produce high quality steel. Ladle Refining Furnaces (LRFs) are used to desulphurise steel, remove other impurities and hold the molten steel for casting operations.
VACUUM DEGASSING (VD): The purpose, of using Vacuum Degassing Process on Liquid Steel, is as following:
- To Reduce Hydrogen, Oxygen and Nitrogen level of the liquid metal to safer levels for FORGING.
- Effective elimination of inclusions & to improve cleanliness of steel.
- Homogenisation of molten metal.
Thus VD is used for improvement in quality of metal.
Bansal Alloys & Metals specializes in vacuum degassing systems for the effective removal of hydrogen, oxygen and / or carbon, based on proven technology and experience. Our tank type ladle degassers achieve low sulfur levels, remove carbon, and improve floatation of oxide inclusions, allowing them to be entrained in the slag. The vacuum can be produced by an all-steam ejector pumping system, mechanical pumps, or a combination steam ejectors and pump system.
Heat Treatment Furnace
A solution anneal (heating to around lOSOO( followed by quenching or rapid cooling) will restore the material to its original condition, removing alloy segregation, sensitisation, and restoring ductility after cold working.
Annealing Furnace Improves the corrosion resistance, Wire drawing ability improves & due to smooth wire drawing, life of die correspondingly improves, Surface defects minimised, Reduction in Pickling time, Improvement & consistency in mechanical/metallurgical properties. This is a batch type fuel fired proven designed furnace with dedicated charging machine, automatic quench operation & fully automatic temperature control system.
The controlled heating and cooling of materials in furnaces at particular temperatures in orderto alter their properties.
A high temperature formed in most roll process in which steel or other materials are austenitized and then air cooled.
Heating to a suitable temperature, holding long enough to reduce residual stresses and then cooling slowly enough to minimize the development of new residual stresses.
Reheating a normalized ferrous alloy to suitable temperature at the necessary transformation range, holding long enough to allow transformation to take place and then cooling slowly enough to allow to minimize the development of residual stresses. This removes brittleness, increases ductility and reduces hardness.
